I am currently not at home, I will try this next week. I already installed samba from unstable, but I cannot test it, because I am not in my local LAN now.
I inform you, if the bug can be closed. I am sorry for not trying the newest version (from the log you can see that I hit this crash on Aug 5 for the first time - after that I waited for a update but as until yesterday nothing appeared in testing, I thought testing was already freezed an so I wrote the bug report). ----- Uwe Schindler H.-H.-Meier-Allee 63, D-28213 Bremen http://www.thetaphi.de eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -----Original Message----- > From: Christian Perrier [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, August 19, 2008 5:58 PM > To: Uwe Schindler; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#495653: samba: libc free() crash in > smbd > > Quoting Uwe Schindler ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): > > Package: samba > > Version: 2:3.2.0-4 > > Severity: important > > > > Since update to 3.2.0, smbd crashes with segfault whenever a user (from > > WindowsXP) needs to authenticate.
