As Lucas is a few meters from me, we have been able to progress a bit about that. The problem comes from a bad interaction between SDL and Xorg. The bug has been actually already reported sometimes ago, but it seems it happens on more machines now. It is reproducible with other SDL applications like planetpenguin-racer.
