Package: git-core
Severity: important
Version: 1:1.5.6.3-1~bpo40+3

I only made a small change to the source package of git-core
1:1.5.6.3-1~bpo40+3 to allow gitk and git-gui to run on etch:

Source: git-core
Version: 1:1.5.6.3-1~bpo40+3~local
Distribution: etch-backports
Urgency: low
Maintainer: Eddy Petrișor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Date: Tue, 5 Aug 2008 12:11:09 +0300
Changes:
 git-core (1:1.5.6.3-1~bpo40+3~local) etch-backports; urgency=low
 .
   * s/tk8.5/tk8.4/g in debian/control, since tk8.5 is not available in etch
I hope this is ok and I don't break anything

(According to bug #456423, this should be safe.)

Then I tried to rebuild the package. It failed to build due to failed tests:

[..]
