Thank you so much for reporting. I also am the maintainer of cegui, I have packaged the last version of it, and the problem with smc's segfault no longer exists. So that, I am uploading the new version of cegui and requesting to debian-release an exception to the library, otherwise smc could not be released into Lenny.
