well, you just hit a bug in the packaging. I was aware that the
parameter name has been changed. Could have documented it in
/usr/share/doc/mantis/NEWS.Debian.gz. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hmm. dbconfig-common is a bit out of my scope. Usually the root password
configuration is done during configuration of dbconfig-common. I'm not
sure if
dpkg-reconfigure -plow dbconfig-common
reasks the root password question, but if it doesn't then its probably
worth to file a bug against dbconfig-common. I will have a closer look
at this in a few days.

So everything worked out as expected despite the parts stated above?
Which charsets to you use in your environment? Its especially important
for me to know if special characters (like umlauts in German or your
accents) are preserved during upgrade.
