Package: xviewg Version: 3.2p1.4-22 Severity: important Closing XView client windows using the window manager's close button no longer works, clients simply continue running without any reaction to the close request.
This seems to be caused by an ABI incompatibility in libX11. The same XView library with the libX11 from etch instead of lenny/sid works fine. However, this doesn't seem to be a bug in libX11, XView simply uses the libX11 API in a strange way that just worked by chance so far. The Ubuntu patch at http://patches.ubuntu.com/x/xview/extracted/don_t_call_several_XAllocID_instances.diff seems to fix the problem, even though it was meant to fix a crash which we don't see (yet) in Debian. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
