Please note that moving packages to Recommends doesn't exclude them from the default install anymore, since APT defaults to including Recommends starting with lenny. I'm aware that tasksel uses --no-install-recommends, which would make one think Recommends aren't dragged in, but this is in fact not true (they will be dragged in as soon as the packages are upgraded).
