I agree too - since there is no conflict and since Firefox/Iceweasel will use the most recent version, then the current settings seems like the best way to go.
I've attached a proposed README.Debian file for the /usr/share/doc/iceweasel-firegpg directory of the package that explains the situation. jamie -- Jamie McClelland 718-303-3204 ext. 101 May First/People Link Growing networks to build a just world http://www.mayfirst.org https://support.mayfirst.org Members Local 1180, Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO PGP Key: http://current.workingdirectory.net/pages/identity/
The iceweasel-firegpg package is designed to work in conjunction with FireGPG Automatic Updates. Please leave the setting "Disable FireGPG Automatic Updates" unchecked. This package is stored in the system directories (/usr/share and /usr/lib) whereas FireGPG Automatic Updates store the plugin in the current user's home directory. FireGPG will use which ever version is the most recent. By allowing automatic updates via FireGPG and via aptitude, you will be more likely to have the most recent version.
