I forward this to our bug tracking system nevertheless, maybe the
mysql-server-5.0.postinst
script can be adjusted from:
pass="`sed -n 's/password *= *// p' $dc | head -n 1`"
to
pass="`sed -n 's/^password *= *// p' $dc | head -n 1`"
