Can you try the following? Without the ipv6 perl stuff,

I have tested without the package "libio-socket-inet6-perl". The package "libsocket6-perl" cannot be removed because its needed by spamassassin.

1. make a backup copy of your mrtg.conf
2. change all @localhost to @127.0.0.1

Does the issue remain?
Done. But the issue remains:

##
2008-07-15 10:45:01 -- Can't locate IO/Socket/INET6.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/bin/../lib/mrtg2 /usr/bin /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/share/perl5/SNMP_Session.pm line 138.
##

PS. Since you are using etch, what version of mrtg are you using? The
one from Etch or the current one?

I'am using the latest Etch packages.
##
$ dpkg -l |grep mrtg
ii mrtg 2.14.7-2 multi router traffic grapher
