there should be a symlink /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/sapdb
pointing to the sdb directory. I verified its existence with the maxdb
packages in sarge and I am also able to import sapdb.sql and create a
Connection object with sdb.dbapi. So, in short, I can't reproduce your
problem. Is the link present in your installation? I am quite clueless
as to why it should not be.
Can you check with 'dpkg -S /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/sapdb'
whether the link is at least registered with your package?
And if it is missing, could you just try reinstalling python2.3-maxdb
and check if this helps with your problem?
Anyway, thank you for your patch, I will apply it in future package
versions, as it is of course the proper way to do it.
In the meantime I while downgrade the severity of this bug to normal
until I hear from you again since I can't reproduce the problem.
