I don't think it'll output anything. What I think is that kfind hides itself from task list because it doesn't need to be there. Maybe there is an option to configure that? Does it appear in alt-tab? Does it appear in kde task list? Task lists, alttab, windows list etc. will only show window which have some defined properties.
