The same happens here. I can play MIDI files with $ timidity -Os -ia somefile.mid but kmid using timidity -Os -iAD (as per /etc/default/timidity) as a MIDI device produces no sound at all. Tried also -Od and -Oj, with and without -B2,8, with no success.
