While I think using backslash in echo is OK with dash, and thus doesn't really block dash release goal, I've removed it to satisfy Debian Policy. The backslash in the message is just to emphasize that the mentioned 'documentclass' is a LaTeX command. But without it, the meaning is still the same. So, fixing this by removing it should be fine.
