Installing using /pub/cdimage-testing/daily/i386/20050527/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso and entering partition /dev/hda1 on /boot, /dev/hda6 on /, installs kernel 2.6.8 correctly in /boot. However, GRUB is now configured incorrectly: boot (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.8 initrd /boot/something This fails to boot since /boot is on (hd0,0). Therefore, '/boot' should be removed from both 'kernel' and 'initrd' line from GRUB configuration. Changing this resumes booting (instead of 'cannot find file'). Maybe related: After finishing installation, /etc/fstab contains # UNCONFIGURED FSTAB FOR BASE SYSTEM and /boot contains lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1 2004-11-14 01:09 boot -> . -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-386 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
