In my case I'm using "set nomark_old" in .muttrc, so all my new mails
fit in your "really new" concept, given that mutt is not supposed to
mark them as "old" when I leave the mailbox.  Maybe it is this which is
changed, but then it is a bug elsewhere to be fixed.
