What should I patch relative to? I have verified that I can read svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-sysvinit/sysvinit/trunk and have found sysv-rc under debian/sysv-rc. I'm thinking the best bet might be to install a minimal sid on a virtual machine and do my work there, then make sure the patches apply cleanly against your trunk in svn. Assuming I actually get to this, I'll send you a patch that you should hopefully be able to apply directly after verifying its correctness. I'll also send an explanation of the changes to help you verify it. I'm technically on "vacation" until June 18. Realistically, it will be the following weekend at the earliest before I'd have time to play with this. I'd like to do this, but I can't commit to doing it. There's going to be some stuff going on in my real life over the next few weeks, and it's unclear at this point whether it's going to mean I'm going to have more time or less time for this kind of thing. It might be just what I need, or my debian work might get squeezed out for a while. But I'll give it a shot. :-) A quick perusal of the code suggests that it should be a pretty localized change. If it makes it into Lenny, great; if not, it doesn't matter -- it will eventually make it in. Sarge hadn't even been released when I posted the original suggestion. :-) --Jay -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
