Apologies, I haven't checked back with the xulrunner bug in several hours, so I didn't read the resolution posted there. After installing the new version of libmozjs1d and upgrading to iceweasel 3.0~rc1-1, the Iceweasel crash no longer occurs, and the browser starts up normally and operates with no serious issues. So, whatever the problem was, it seems to have been resolved with the new version. Thanks, N.
