The gnome environment is visually impressive and intuituve to use. This has made it the desktop of choice for many distributions attempting to appeal to non-expert users. Expert users however are often left wanting for customizabiltity. This wishlist item is one that might help sway some of those expert users over. Would it be possible to allow the gnome panel to be resized to less than 23 pixels. This is something I really like about pypanel for example as it allows me to save valuable vertical screenspace on my widescreen laptop.
