-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Christian,
in order to debug this, I'd need as much of the following information as you can procure: 1. Dovecot version and configuration from gandi.net, if possible, and have them check the logs if there are any errors related to your fetchmail runs. 2. A timestamped log (enable mail.debug logging in syslogd and use fetchmail -vvv --syslog) 3. A Wireshark or tcpdump -s10000 trace if the connection isn't encrypted. Be sure to find and replace your password! 4. A test account on said server and a copy of the mails getting stuck. 5. A copy of your configuration file without passwords. 6. A stack backtrace taken between the FETCH that gets stuck, but before the socket error strikes. It may turn out that the bug is inside Dovecot, hence (1).
