Because it is the default to reply to the sender, not everybody in
this email client.
The BTS does not include any reply-to header that would instruct the
email client to do otherwise.

If somebody likes the program they would use it. Or if they go away
and find a program just for that ;-)
If you think the program is completely meaningless with an empty
password perhaps it should refuse to start, and say it requires a
password to operate?
Why is it not the case when no password is set then?
