Right, educational development tools include BlueJ and Greenfoot. Alas non-GPL. Please keep asking. > > Suggests: eclipse > Note: Eclipse is a really powerful development environment and > schould not be missing in this list, but it might be some overkill > for students and thus it is only "Suggested". Indeed. But maybe anybody knows of the openoffice-wrapper for java/eclipse? It is said to give a simple interface to address openoffice by Java commands (comparable to Ponto being based on Python) As for the GUI builder, Netbeans was easier to handle when I tried last. > > Depends: bwbasic huh? > > Depends: kturtle yes, but part of kde-edu I think > > Depends: kommander > > Suggests: tk8.5-dev, tcl8.5-dev > > Suggests: swi-prolog, swi-prolog-clib, swi-prolog-http, > swi-prolog-semweb, \ swi-prolog-sgml, swi-prolog-table, > swi-prolog-xpce, swi-prolog-doc Very nice, but this was replaced by another version AFAIR. There is a non-profit JPrologEditor that gives a nice GUI to prolog. But it shouldn't be too hard to do the same thing with KWrite or the like. (Emacs? - well...) How about: python, squeak, umbrello (musthave), kdevelop (Qt/c++) There is also some neat educational Java apps that are GPLed: JFractionlab, Geogebra, Geonext etc. Kind regards Ralf -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
