What would be nice is you to install the samba-dbg package, then
manually launch samba as "/usr/lib/debug/usr/sbin/smbd -F" and try to
reproduce the breakage.
Of course, on a production server, that might be tricky.
Unfortunately, like I said before, I can't reproduce this problem any
more, as the user has upgraded the computer to the final release, and
the problem stopped occurring.
