PS One could get by if src/unix/Makefile.in allowed to define R_HOME just
for this directory. AFAICT the definition in src/main/Makefile.in wins, and
it sets
# next is needed for shared BLAS
R_HOME=$(top_builddir)
Kurt, any chance one could set GNU autotools magic to make the former respect
R_HOME=$(DESTDIR)/lib/R
or
rhome = ${libdir}/R
as in Makeconf.in ?
