Package: backup-manager Version: 0.7.6-3 Severity: important
Backup-Manager is set to run tarball incremental on my system. After the backup is complete, another server connects to it and uses scp to download the archives. This process has been failing for about three weeks now when creating the master archive (incrementals are fine). The archives are created successfully, can be untarred and verified, however backup-manager does not set proper permissions on them afterwards, which prevents them from being downloaded. The error message I've been getting is (for each archive): Unable to create "/home/archives/workgroup-var-lib-dpkg.20080414.master.tar.gz", check /tmp/bm-tarball.log.e17279 /tmp/bm-tarball.log.e17279: /bin/tar: Removing leading `/' from member names This first happened on March 27th, with the error message: The archive command returned 1 but the archive has been created; check "/tmp/bm-tarball.log.dQ1216". I have downgraded tar to 1.16-2etch1 from 1.19-3 , but I won't know until next Monday if that fixes the problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages backup-manager depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.20 Debian configuration management sy ii findutils 4.4.0-2 utilities for finding files--find, ii gzip 1.3.12-5 The GNU compression utility ii ucf 3.006 Update Configuration File: preserv backup-manager recommends no packages. -- debconf information: backup-manager/upload-key: backup-manager/name-format: long backup-manager/upload-hosts: backup-manager/upload-user-ftp: backup-manager/cron_frequency: daily backup-manager/cron_d_remove_deprecated: false backup-manager/blacklist: /home/archives backup-manager/time-to-live: 5 backup-manager/burning-maxsize: 650 backup-manager/encryption_recipient: backup-manager/transfert_mode: scp backup-manager/dump_symlinks: false backup-manager/upload-user-scp: bmngr backup-manager/burning-device: /dev/cdrom backup-manager/upload-dir: /var/archives/uploads backup-manager/enable_encryption: false * backup-manager/directories: /home /var/log /etc /var/lib/dpkg * backup-manager/repo_group: backup backup-manager/filetype: tar.gz * backup-manager/repo_user: root * backup-manager/backup-repository: /home/archives backup-manager/burning-method: CDRW backup-manager/burning-enabled: false backup-manager/want_to_upload: false -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
