No, there is no need to install them in /etc/cdd. A sourece.list
file in the source directory overrides /etc/cdd anyway. So if there
a source.list.foo is found in the package source directory /etc/cdd
is ignored in any case.
It should work if you do not touch the package source and put some files
into /etc/cdd but this will fail on an autobuilder that is missing the
file in /etc/cdd. But I have no experience at all with Ubuntu and do
not know whether this autobuilder argument is a constraint.
Please note: You have to say
make dist
to let thhe source.list become effective. The dist target creates a
debian/control file that considers the packages in the Packages.gz
at the given location.
