On updating a local workstation from an old Ubuntu release to Debian Etch we found that Iceweasel 2.0.0.12-0etch1 - the Debian variant of Firefox - does not render the now.netapp.com page correctly. Error: The stylesheet http://now.netapp.com/NOW/public/home/includes/mainstructure_investors.css was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/plain", is not "text/css". Source File: http://now.netapp.com/ Line: 0 It is true that the stylesheet file is send as mime type text/plain by the server and I will report this to NetApp site admins. Looking closer however shows that the upstream Firefox 2.0.0.13 renders above page in Compatibility (Quirks) mode according to page informations while Iceweasel 2.0.0.12-0etch1 from etch, but also Iceweasel 2.0.0.13-1 from sid renders the page in Standards compliance mode. Why? If its a page that contains quirks IMHO it should be rendered as such. Otherwise Debian users cannot show now.netapp.com and all other webpages whose servers send text/plain for stylesheet files with stylesheet information in Iceweasel, Galeon and Epiphany (which is gecko based in etch). Also Konqueror and the Webkit version of epiphany (epiphany-webkit 2.20.3-1) appear to render the page in compatibily mode.
