hi,

some time ago I changed the Debian package in lenny, so that, when it
installs, it does not put a line "vo=" into /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf .
The idea is that, without such a line, 'mplayer' will try a sensible
list of vo-s, and choose the best.

Unfortunately, this seems to break 'gmplayer'. In absence of that line,
when the configs ~/.mplayer/gui.conf are not present, when 'gmplayer' is
tun for the first time it sets vo=xmga in ~/.mplayer/gui.conf (and this
will be wrong in 99% of the case, nowadays).

I am reporting this upstream at
http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu/show_bug.cgi?id=1044

For the time being, I will change the Debian package so that the default
(that is, the autodetect) will be
vo=xvmc,xv,x11

This seems to solve the problem.

a.
