Package: module-init-tools Version: 3.3-pre11-1 Severity: normal
module-init-tools contains aliases for all protocol families in /etc/modprobe.d/aliases. The LLC alias is: alias net-pf-26 llc The llc module has been split up in a core part for use by the kernel (llc) and the actually LLC sockets for userspace (llc2). So the alias should use llc2, otherwise attempts to open LLC sockets fail with "Protocol family not supported". Actually I don't understand why the aliases are defined there at all, the kernel defines suitable aliases for all protocol families itself, so simply removing that line also fixes things. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-rc6 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages module-init-tools depends on: ii libc6 2.7-9 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.2-4 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip module-init-tools recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
