Package: python Version: 2.4.5-1 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/lib/python2.4/xmlrpclib.py
In [1]: import xmlrpclib In [2]: xmlrpclib.dumps((1,), 'name', methodresponse=True) Out[2]: "<?xml version='1.0'?>\n<methodCall>\n<methodName>name</methodName>\n<params>\n<param>\n<value><int>1</int></value>\n</param>\n</params>\n</methodCall>\n" According to the documentation, this should return a methodResponse packet, not a methodCall. The problem is that I am sending methodname='name' as well, which overrides methodresponse. I'd say this is worth an assertion or other form of safety net.
