Package: imagemagick
Severity: wishlist

The imagemagick debian package requires libx11-6 and various other
X11-specific things, in order that the visual components work properly.

Yet, a lot of the backend tools do not use GUIs, and don't require X -
convert, etc... These are useful e.g. on a standalone webserver, for
doing image thumbnail conversions, and so on.

It would be nice if there was a package, perhaps called
"imagemagick-nox11" which contained just those backend tools, and didn't
require X11.
