Yes I just had the same idea and took the same libnss3 version I had
from snapshots (as it's not anymore in Debian)
and when libnss3 is installed I got the error (and also another error
about checking a certificate via OCSP)
and when removing the lib it works, so that's really the problem.

You can try with:

about libnss3-1d, cf the logs I gave:

2008-03-03 20:41:15 upgrade libnss3-1d 3.12.0~1.9b1-2 3.12.0~1.9b1-1
2008-03-03 22:30:03 upgrade libnss3-1d 3.12.0~1.9b1-1 3.12.0~1.9b1-2

but I didn't check again just before the downgrade (theoretically the problem 
was already solved when I did the build-dep but I didn't try since)
