As has already been stated you say: "IMO, more than 4 years is too much. But comparing to that, it's hard to be proud of under 1 year. IMO it's OK, but not more." We did not support it for 1 year, but for 1 year *after* the next release. Therefore your objection isn't terribly useful, and the change won't be made. Either way in the future please discuss this in the relevant place, either the mailing list debian-security, or direct to the security team.
