Yes, very much agreed. Currently, if you install a Debian standard system this is the only service that opens up a port to the network. While there's obviously a use for it, this seems far from widely applicable in nowadays world. Going from >0 to 0 open services on a Debian standard install brings us significantly closer to being "secure by default". Please let me know if you agree with this.
