Hi, just read on LWN that ionice -c3 will be available for non-privileged users: - From http://lwn.net/Articles/266361/: The idle class for I/O scheduling has been changed to not be 100% idle when the device is busy; as a result, it is far less likely to cause priority inversion problems and is no longer limited to privileged processes. So I presume this bug can be closed when 2.6.25 hits the Debian archives.
