According to http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/cassbeam cassbeam declares a BD on libkpathsea3. As this is the runtime part of the library this is not very useful. You should rather declare a BD on libkpathsea-dev, but the source package doesn't seem to need that as your builds do not fail. BTW: libkpathsea3 is by itself pulled in by tetex-extra, which declares a Depend on tetex-bin.
