I just built vnc4_4.0-8 with gcc-3.3 on Debian/AMD64 sid after applying Andreas patch from http://debian-ppc64.alioth.debian.org/gcc4/patches/vnc4_4.0-8.0.0.1.gcc4.patch . A quick test shows that xvnc4viewer works as expected, but the server segfaults on startup. I couldn't produce an useful back trace with the default package, but if you'd like me to generate a debug package let me know how to do so; I don't know if you're planning to move onto a newer X tree, therefore I'm not putting a lot of time on this right now.
