Package: pbuilder Version: 0.177 Severity: normal Hi Junichi,
in a pbuilder -login session the variable $HOME keeps the value of the user invoking pbuilder, which is obviously not valid inside the chroot. Probably should be set to /root if it's root's shell. I noticed this by vim failing to save /home/beckmann/.viminfo (and being noisy-and-request-pressing-enter about this) after editing some configuration. This should have been /root/.viminfo. Shell history is not preserved with this settings, too.
