Please add dh_desktop to debian/rules.
$ desktop-file-validate debian/amsn.desktop
amsn.desktop: warning: value "Application;Network;" for key "Categories" in
group "Desktop Entry" contains a deprecated value "Application"
amsn.desktop: warning: key "Encoding" in group "Desktop Entry" is deprecated
-Icon=/usr/share/pixmaps/amsn/amsn.xpm
+Icon=amsn
The amsn.desktop file also needs to follow the standards.
