The cpufrequtils package provides two facilities that when used could allow the powersave package to drop a substantial amount of similar code: /etc/init.d/loadcpufreq Detect and load applicable cpu powersaving kernel module for CPU type. /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils Set default CPU powersaving policy The powersaved package could recommend cpufrequtils to take advantage of its functionality. Also, the powersaved initscript LSB header could use the Should-Start keyword to set a loose LSB dependency, allowing loadcpufreq and cpufrequtils to start before powersaved where possible.
