Hello, I'm having similar problems: After logging into a GNOME session, I cannot immediately log back out. After clicking on the "Log Out" button the confirmation dialog disappears but nothing happens. Then, after one or two minutes, I suddenly get kicked out of the desktop without notice, regardless of what I've been doing at that time. Some process seems to keep the desktop alive, but "top" shows nothing but idle. Logout functions normally after the desktop has been runing for a few minutes.
