Package: lockvc
Version: 4.0.5.7 I recently installed this program and noticed a minor bug. If you have a user that was setup with there account locked for example
passwd -l root
then you are unable to exit the screen saver. Quite a few distro such as Ubuntu set root up like this so you can only get root access via sudo. It might be an idea to have a simple check that simply calls passwd --status CURRENT_USER_NAME or something similar that checks to see if the account is locked or not and warn the user ideally giving then a chance to stop the screen being locked. I only suggest this as unless you have ssh or another way in the system you cant kill the program off.

i know this is not really a bug but maybe if the check is not added at least make a small note at the top of the --help for this app or man page

I am using:
Linux Maia 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:28:27 UTC 2007 x86_64
GNU/Linux
on ubuntu 7.10

NOTE: I did send this to Guillem jover the package maintainer as could not find
a project homepage for this app. He asked if i would post this bug here

Description: screensaver to lock your Linux console(s)
Lockvc is a console-locking-program combined with some nifty vga-
screensavers.
.
All virtual consoles get locked, i.e. you cannot change to another
VC and you can't stop the program by pressing any key-combos. You
can only exit the program by entering your system-password. Root's
password will also terminate lockvc.
.
To make the program available to any users, lockvc is installed
setuid by default. Use dpkg-statoverride if you want to change this.
