Hi! I'm experiencing exactly the behaviour described in this bug report on a stock Etch installation. Kernel: 2.6.18-5-amd64, courier-imap: 4.1.1.20060828-5.
The message is: Starting Courier IMAP server:/etc/init.d/courier-imap: xrealloc: ../bash/print_cmd.c:1273: cannot reallocate 512 bytes (0 bytes allocated) The solution described as above solves this problem for me. Since a default etch install does not work for multiple independent people I think the original RC severity was justified. Would it be an idea to prepare a stable update with simply changing that ulimit value? It seems to work for most and is a small enough change to seem appropriate for a stable update. thanks, Thijs
