Package: splashy Version: 0.3.7-1 I've recently implemented a API for the progress bar shown during boot. It is intended to work with any splash screen implementation, and usplash and splashy was taken into account. This was implemented in initscripts version 2.86.ds1-39.
Each splash screen implementation is expected to provide a file /lib/init/splash-functions with a few functions implemented. A usplash implementation is currently available in the initscripts package, in the /lib/init/splash-functions-usplash, but it is to be moved to the usplash package.
