You do not need to remove SCIM packages to use gcin.  Just reconfigure
im-switch to use gcin.

Since you removed SCIM, I do not know exactly what version caused
problem.

You have lenny but you have apt to using: (500, 'proposed-updates'),
(500, 'stable'?  You do not seem to have  libscim8c2a    1.4.7-2
library for SCIM platform either.  Can you elaborate under what
condition problem encountered?  Did you try to upgrade system?  What
tool did you use?  "apt-get dist-upgrade" or atitude with "U" "g"?  Or
did you install something by "apt-get install" first?

Since this seems upgrade issue, I need to get info on this.
