This seems better now. For some reason the patch applied better in svn-buildpackage when used with pbuilder, so now we have lintian /home/edd/src/debian/SVN/build-area/openmpi_1.2.4-5_source.changes W: openmpi source: newer-standards-version 3.7.3 (current is 3.7.2) which is fine on testing with the older lintian.
