Hello,
I tried today to install the newest git-core package 1:1.5.3.6-1.
Preparing to replace git-core 1:1.5.3.5-1 (using
.../git-core_1%3a1.5.3.6-1_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement git-core ...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/git-core_1%3a1.5.3.6-1_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/perl5/Error.pm', which is also in
package liberror-perl
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/git-core_1%3a1.5.3.6-1_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
How you see, the perl module /usr/share/perl5/Error.pm is provided by
the package liberror-perl.
I think the best suggestion to remove this conflict is, that you remove
the perl module Error.pm from the git-core package and set a depends on
the package liberror-perl.
