Well. I'd rather see either “Évènement” or “Événement” (either would be correct). You might have missed the reform which makes “évènement” the recommended spelling (since it is consistent with “avènement”) — although I agree with you that “événement” is nicer. ;-) Then that's the translator's choice whether to follow that reform and its new recommendation.
