Subject: After exit from vim the console is in a mass Package: vim Version: 1:6.3-071+1 Severity: important
*** Please type your report below this line *** Hello, I'm using vim in gnome-terminal under gnome 2.8. When I `cd' into some directory tree, whose names are chinese ones and are encoded in UTF-8, and open some file with VIM, everything is OK. Then, when I exit from VIM, the console would in a mass, that is, the prompting information would change from something like `<user>@<path>' to something uncognizable, although the locale has been changed in VIM session. Moreover, I have tried `vim -u NONE -U NONE' and got the same result. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages vim depends on: ii dpkg 1.10.27 Package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-20 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii vim-common 1:6.3-071+1 Vi IMproved - Common files -- no debconf information -- Hongzheng Wang Department of Electronic Engineering Tsinghua University Beijing 100084, China Tel: (+86 10) 6279 6973 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
