This doesn't sound like a psi bug: With jabber, presence is independent
from messaging. So, if for some reason, the aim transport doesn't tell
psi that the user is online, then psi will show the user as offline,
even though he can still send messages.

I see a similar behavior with the pyicq transport (and never saw it with
jit). Clicking on "rerequest authorization from..." usually makes the
contact visible again.

As I'm not using aim, I don't know specifics about that protocol, but
AFAIK it's quite similar to icq, so I guess the pyicq und pyaim
transports are not that different. May it be that you are using pyaim
and are observing the same problem as I do?
